Screenwriter and director Charlie Kaufman has teamed up yet again with the ever-talented Catherine Keener for his upcoming FX comedy pilot How and Why. Variety reports that the show “revolves around a man who can explain the workings of a nuclear reactor but is clueless about life.”
Keener, who has worked with Kaufman in Being John Malkovich and Adaptation, will be a guest star on the pilot if it gets picked up to series. Joining the project as a full-time cast member is Sally Hawkins, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her work in last year’s Blue Jasmine. Michael Cera and John Hawkes are also set to star.
Now while this sounds like a lovely premise for a television show, I would just like to make sure we know that super smart nerdy dudes also have the ability to show love and compassion and make the most endearing surprised faces in the world.
